I agree 100% with what you said. I can't imagine why the MNR of all organizations would permit the extirpation of our beautiful brown trout in the gorgeous headwaters of the Credit River system. Truly insane if you ask me. I fly fish in that river system regularly and love it. I have caught hundreds of beautiful small brook trout over the years. And sadly have seen their slow decline. I'm guessing water quality has a lot to do with it. I have recently built a petition to stop the town of Erin from building a waste water treatment plant that plans to dump the effluent from it directly into the West Credit tributary which is the source of the West credit river. It has southern Ontario's only natural brook trout habitat. I urge you and your readers to sign this petition and to get your MP's attention about this terrible proposal. Here is the petition site: https://www.change.org/p/sylvia-jones-mpp-stop-dumping-waste-into-the-credit-river

In reply to <a href="https://www.ontarioflyfisher.com/credit-river-regulations-changes/#comment-177">Graham</a>.

Thanks Graham, I agree with all of the above. In fact, it would be a great idea to put together such a list of contact information for concerned anglers. We really do need to rally together on this and be heard, otherwise we risk losing the few precious resources we have left.

By the way, great show (TNFF) with Colin. That was an excellent Brown you guys ended with. Also, fairly good timing - I think / hope it will help to raise awareness about the great wild trout river that we have and need to protect. Did you guys film this last year (2015)?

Cheers,

I couldn't have said it better.. The only thing you're missing is the number or email to the MNR for concerned anglers to call or contact and complain and the email or numbers to the groups that do not support the killing of the Brown trout to let them know we support them.. I think the MNR and Mark Heaton ( head biologist) need to give their heads a shake and wake up to the fact our environment is not getting better and brookies are the first to go, and it's humans at fault for that, not the browns fault..
