In reply to <a href="https://www.ontarioflyfisher.com/2015-trout-opening-week/#comment-143">Simon Chapman</a>.

Believe it or not, I haven't fished the upper Credit for browns yet this year, which is very unlike me. I imagine the low water levels are really impacting that water though, as it's fairly low to begin with. I have to get up there soon though!

I have the 8'6" 4wt Zenith. I've had it for a few years now and it's been great. I just ordered a new Hardy Ultralite DD reel for it, so I'm excited to get that.

I'm sure you'll have fun with the new 10ft 3wt. It'll probably be a fun rod to fish on some of the trickier pocket water on the Credit.

Nice Post! It's good to mix it up with steel and trout. Nice brown from the Grand.

Your opener sounded similar to mine - skunked on the Saugeen, but landed some nice steel on a an eastern lake Ontario trib. Credit browns were very tricky - there is a fallen tree blocking the river upstream of the forks, and wondered if this was stopping fish moving from wintering holes to the riffles, as one of my usual spots was bereft of trout. Managed to wangle a couple out of a new spot.

I see your trout rod is a hardy zenith - I use the 8.6ft 5wt which I love, and recently picked up a 10ft 3wt for some high sticking which I am looking forward to using when we get enough water that I can get close enough for this technique!
